n this series of interviews, Source Elements Academy shares helpful insights from Source-Connect Certified engineers and studios.

Here is VO director and audio engineer Anne Catalino answering our questions:

What makes your studio a great studio?
The people I record are great; SAG-AFTRA member voiceover actors.

I work for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Don La Fontaine Voiceover (VO) Lab.
The Foundation is a wonderful organization with many programs which help members, including remote voiceover recording for the VO Lab.
I use Source-Connect for Online Booth Sessions: All things voiceover; commercial, animation, video games, ADR, narration, audiobooks – auditions, workouts and technical assistance.

What made you decide to get your studio and engineer/s Source-Connect
Certified?
I love to learn and wanted to feel fully equipped to render the best service possible.

“I love to learn and wanted to feel fully equipped to render the best service possible.”

What is your favourite thing about working remotely?
The efficiency of global reach with no commute.
One minute I could be recording someone in Canada, the next it could be Australia.

  • Pro Tools
  • Audacity

How does your studio usually incorporate Source-Connect into your
workflow?
When I connect with Source-Connect Standard and Source-Connect Now users, I use Pro Tools with Source-Nexus 1.3.

What is the number one recommendation you have for other engineers who
are new to Source-Connect?

Take the course and jump right in.

"...removing the need to commute, frees up so much time and energy"

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
Source-Connect is a technical marvel, that enabled pro audio quality recordings to flow unimpeded, through a global pandemic.

Also, removing the need to commute, frees up so much time and energy to one’s day.

Thank you Source-Connect!
