Source-Live enables users to stream the output of their Pro Tools mix to multiple listeners simultaneously. Pro Tools users simply e-mail listeners a Live-link and the listeners, utilizing common media player software such as Quicktime, immediately connect to the stream in real time from anywhere in the world. Utilizing the most current AAC/mp4 codec, Source-Live provides listeners with true 24 bit audio quality. Real-time ‘listener management’ and password protection within the plug-in allows users to control of who’s listening in on the session. Source-Live’s ‘Live-to-File’ feature makes generating mp4 files and podcasting a snap. In addition to session monitoring, Source-Live can also be used to stream live events to a streaming server for true internet radio capabilities.
John Binder, cofounder of Source Elements, states “Source- Live is an excellent complement to Source-Connect, our bi-directional low latency studio to studio connection plug-in. It allows multiple clients in different locations to easily listen to sessions with far better quality than a phone patch.” Robert Marshall, cofounder of Source Elements adds, “Source-Live changes the workflow of many productions by eliminating the need to email or ftp audio files for approvals. It allows for real time approvals, without setting up a complicated streaming server. Everything is taken care of directly within Source-Live!”
Owners of Source-Live will be able to customize a browser based Quicktime GUI for branding and advertising opportunities.
Source-Live is compatible with Pro Tools Version 7 (Mac and Windows), and is slated for release in February, 2006 at a price of $395 USD. Go to www.source-live.com for additional pricing and product details.
