Not all VST hosts are suitable for Source Elements software as many hosts are 'editors' and not 'mixing' hosts. If you can record, for example, your microphone input with a live reverb, then your host should be suitable.

Any real-time VST host that supports VST 2.3 plug-ins should be compatible, however Source Elements does not, at this time, provide any official support for hosts other than those listed below. If we've missed your VST host in the list or below in the Unsupported section please contact us for advice.

  • See Audio Units compatible hosts

Steinberg Cubase and Nuendo 3 and up
Adobe Adobe Audition 2.0 and up **
    Ableton Ableton Live
    Cakewalk Cakewalk Sonar
    Cockos Cockos Reaper
    Fairlight Fairlight Audio Bridge
    Merging Technologies Pyramix
    Sony Sony Vegas

  • ** Adobe Audition does not have the ability to record what you hear coming back from Source-Connect. Software will not work with Adobe Audition 1.5 or lower.

Hosts such as Sony Sound Forge and Peak are not compatible with Source-Connect, as it is not possible to use a live input with VST plug-ins with these applications. We recommend you use our Source Elements Desktop host and use your editor for editing the subsequent recorded files.
