SOURCE-CONNECT PRO AND HAMACHI VPN
PART 2: HAMACHI AND SOURCE-CONNECT PRO
This guide is to show you how to use VPN Mode with HamachiX.
IMPORTANT:
Currently Auto-Restore and Auto-Replace are not available for VPN mode.
You should already have Hamachi installed and be ready to connect.

Requirements:
VERIFY YOUR HAMACHI CONNECTION
First, you need to ensure that you have Hamachi connected. Your window should look something like this:
Verify the following:
1. You have an IP address at the top like '5.x.x.x'
2. You can see the user you wish to connect to, and there is a green light next to their username
If there is no green light, it means that your contact is not connected to your network, or your network is offline.
If you know that your contact is online, try checking the 'Network online' box at the bottom of the window.
CONNECTING WITH HAMACHI AND SOURCE-CONNECT PRO
1. LAUNCH PRO TOOLS
If you already had Pro Tools open while configuring HamachiX, you must re-open Pro Tools or it will not
be able to find your new Hamachi IP address.
2. ENTER VPN MODE
Click on 'VPN mode'. It is not necessary to enter your login details.
3. SELECT YOUR HAMACHI ADDRESS
Click on the Settings panel and choose the Hamachi IP address.
You may have more than one private IP. Select the address that starts with '5'.
4. ENTER YOUR CONTACT'S HAMACHI IP ADDRESS
Enter the Hamachi IP address you see listed for your contact in the main Hamachi window. It will also start with '5'.
Unless your contact has changed the default port in their VPN settings panel, you can leave the port number at 6000.
5. CONNECT
Click on the 'Connect' button at the top of the plug-in window. Your contact MUST have followed the above instructions 1-3. (It is only
necessary for one user to enter an IP adress and connect, however).
Your contact will see the following, and should click on 'OK'.
6. SESSION ESTABLISHED
You are now connected via the HamachiX VPN private network. You can conduct sessions as normal, including using Remote Transport Sync.
IMPORTANT: Currently Auto-Restore and Auto-Replace are not available for VPN mode. If you get an error in the Instant Messaging
windows regarding Q, please disregard this.
